The Gabbard meeting, with the unlikely possibility being broached that she could become President Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations (replacing the Irish-born warmongering banshee and wife to Cass Sunstein, Samantha Power), is yet another signal from the President elect of a new and different foreign policy. While Russian President Vladimir Putin has cautioned and Establishment foreign policy hands have said that policies once President Trump is in power can differ dramatically from ‘wouldn’t it be great to get along with Russia?’ campaign rhetoric, reaching out to Mrs. Gabbard even as a non-member of his Administration who remains in Congress shows Trump is seeking a bipartisan group to oppose the mindless drive for great power confrontation and endless wars currently entrenched in Washington.

Trump is also, as his chief ideologist with the title counselor to the President Steve Bannon has indicated, is preparing an expansionary (and likely inflationary) fiscal stimulus policy to rebuild the USA’s increasingly decrepit if not dangerously decayed infrastructure. So-called ‘deficit hawks’ in the GOP who don’t mind borrowing billions from supposed adversaries like ‘Red’ China to pay for U.S. military spending overseas are likely to oppose Trump’s move as ‘big government’. But the issue will not be whether there will be deficits or large government so much as what gets spent and for what. Since 2009 Washington and its rich suburbs have lived large while much of the country has slipped further into socioeconomic despair and the highest real unemployment rate since the Great Depression.
As for the U.S. military that neocons like Sen. John McCain claim to love so much, it’s been saddled with new turkey/lemon systems, such as the F-35 fighter, while America’s basic nuclear deterrent and overestimated technological edge has been severely eroded if not surpassed in key areas by the Russians and Chinese, including anti-ship and anti-air missiles and electronic warfare. A significant portion of the Pentagon and Department of Defense ‘Deep State’, for whom the Hawaii Congresswoman has become a de facto spokeperson, believe the policy of overthrowing Gaddafi in Libya and arming ‘moderate’ jihadists in Syria has only empowered Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

As The Donald demonstrated by inviting the dying three letter news network executives and lead reporters to Trump Tower for a ‘f—ing firing squad’ dressing down over their lies and bias during the campaign, the times they are a changin’. The new president is going to make mistakes, and find that many supposed allies are out to sabotage him, while the so-called 4th branch of government the bureaucracy will leak like a sieve and oppose him every step of the way. But Trump’s election like the Brexit, the ascendancy of the Eurasian multipolar model and the forthcoming elections in Europe are indeed signals of a decisive (Strauss Howe 4th) turning in the (post)Western world. The looming global economic reset (GER) now rolling in like the wall of a hurricane on the horizon, is going to demand nothing less than everything Mr. Trump, who cannot stop it, can do to brace Americans for impact.
